Overview

Located just a few minutes from the heart of Baguio, Zafron Authentic Persian Grill And Cafe is a welcome escape into the rich flavors and warm hospitality of Persian cuisine. Nestled along Tiptop Ambuklao Road, this family restaurant stands out not only for its menu but also for its serene setting, complete with breathtaking mountain views that rival even Mines View Park. The space offers a calm and inviting ambiance, making it ideal for families, couples, or anyone looking to savor a memorable meal away from the city’s buzz.

Zafron’s menu is a thoughtful blend of authentic Persian dishes with some nods to local tastes. Signature dishes like Chicken Koobideh and Chicken Kebab with Pita highlight the skillful grilling that defines Persian cuisine, marked by tender, aromatic meats layered with familiar Mediterranean spices. The Zafron Salad Bowl and Kashk O Bademjan (a traditional eggplant dip) offer fresh and savory complements, while their Hummus stands out for its balance and depth — something that experienced diners particularly appreciated. The portions are generous, allowing patrons to share and truly savor each component without feeling rushed.

Breads like soft pita serve not just as a side but as an essential vehicle for dipping and savoring spreads, adding to the communal dining experience. For those with a sweet tooth, the baklava is a revelation — described by customers as a unique fusion between apple pie and peanut brittle. It’s rich and sweet enough to make a lasting impression but best enjoyed in moderation or shared to balance its intensity.

The experience goes beyond food. Guests find the staff warm and attentive, with an atmosphere that blends casual comfort and subtle elegance. Though parking is limited, the restaurant's proximity to the Central Business District ensures convenience without the crowd, perfect for relaxed family outings or intimate dinners. A drink of Safron Tea or Turkish coffee provides a fitting end, wrapping up the meal with a comforting warmth that echoes the restaurant’s overall vibe.

While minor critiques such as the firmness of the basmati rice or the absence of expected condiments like white sauce with Koobideh arose, these are easily overlooked amid the overall generosity and quality of the offering. Zafron is not just a place to eat—it’s a place to discover Persian culture through its culinary traditions, set against one of the Philippines’ most beautiful backdrops.

For anyone seeking a genuine taste of Persian cuisine in Baguio, combined with thoughtful service and a welcoming environment, Zafron Authentic Persian Grill And Cafe is a must-visit. Its ability to marry authenticity with accessibility and comfort makes it a standout destination for families and food lovers alike.

We didn’t have any expectations when we came here, as we’d like to try Persian dishes. Aside from the pictures, my other family members ordered chicken dishes, and we were all satisfied and delighted with the meals we chose. We’d definitely come back to try their other dishes. What’s more, their baklava is worth trying. It’s a combination of apple pie and peanut brittle —something new to us, and it’s a great experience although it’s best to share one slice, as it could be too sweet.

Sumptuous mediterranean food. We tried their family plate and we enjoyed every bit of kebab and rice! Their salad and gheimeh badjeman were great too! The restaurant is about 15 minutes away from the CBD, so you can enjoy your meals without the crowd. Limited parking is available.

So delicious and huge portions. We ordered the mini platter good for 2-3 persons but could not finish. It was delicious. We also got the appetizer sampler, and once again I couldn't believe how big the portion was. Absolutely delicious. Tried the hummus, eggplant, and yogurt. All so flavorful. I habe had hummus at many places and there is never enough flavor or salt. This one was perfect! The view is also beautiful. We will definitely be back to tey other dishes.

An absolute gem in Baguio! Zafron is a beautifully situated Persian restaurant just five minutes from Pacdal Circle, offering breathtaking mountain view, just as stunning as Mines View, if not more. The ambiance is calm, romantic, and perfect for a memorable dining experience. They serve authentic Persian cuisine, but they also offer a special menu with localized flavors for those who prefer a more familiar taste. We started with the Appetizer Sampler, which let us choose three appetizers, a great way to begin the meal. For the main course, we had the Lamb Chop Shish-Lik. Though a bit pricey, it was absolutely worth it, the lamb was fragrant, tender, and paired perfectly with their flavorful rice. To end the meal, we enjoyed Baklava and Turkish coffee, a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness. The food was exceptional, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the owner made us feel right at home. What more could we ask for? This place is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be recommending Zafron to all my friends and bringing my family here soon. 100% recommended!

Went here for a Very Early dinner yesterday. We ordered the hummus sampler, kobideh, zafron salad. codfish and another dish with kobideh. Still confused betweeb kobab and kobideh as it looks the same. Anyway. The atmosphere is just amazing. Add to that the Cold breeze. Food was good. Price is just on point if you compare with Manila prices. I was looking for white sauce for the kobideh and asked the server. She said it just comes with the beef, didnt ask if i could get some, she didnt offer either, she could have offered it and even if with charge would gladly pay for it as i love white sauce with Kobab or kobideh. Basmati Rice was bit tough to eat, it should be soft. This was so far my only complaint.

The place is in the outskirts of the city with a great view of the eastern mountain ranges. Went there afternoon off hours on a weekday hoping for a quick bite and lots of options. Unfortunately, their kitchen is already preparing for their dinner shift so food options were limited. Didn't disappoint. Cost is a bit on the pricey side and wait time is a bit long. But these are reasonable for a specialty resto. Highly recommend ordering appetizers as they are served quickly. Parking is available but limited. Cashless transactions are accepted.

What a great dining experience! Came with my family to have lunch. Since it was the end of Panagbenga Festival we wanted to avoid the crowd in the city. Passed by Zafron along the road and decided to try it. It was the right decision! We ordered the following: For Appetizer: * Lentil soup * Eggplant Boran * Pita Mains: * Beef koobideh Drinks & Dessert: * Lasi * Baklava * Zafron ice cream Appatizer alone and we so enjoyed it that we were getting full. The lentil soup is good, it's seasoned just right and the pita was a good pair. The eggplant was such a pleasant delight. It was well seasoned complimentary to the eggplant flavor and really explodes in your mouth! Moved to my #1 eggplant dip! We need a special mention of the Pita. First thing you notice is that it was baked with black sesame which gave it a surprise slight nutty taste when eaten. Also their pita is slightly thicker than what I usually seen served. However this slight thickness makes a world of difference because it makes the pita a bit chewy and wow factor here. Oh and they serve the pita in perfect canape sized triangles! Beef koobiah was another amazing dish. Let's start with the perfectly cooked Basmati rice. The beef was served with generous proportions and perfectly cooked. I hate it when beef is overcooked. The beef quality was very high and the beef was prepare with a dry rub which heightened my experience in eating it. Every bite and chew released a slightly different flavor, not overpowering but interesting which was fascinating for my dining experience. The Lasi drink was a yogurt drink with a carbonated soda as a base. Although i did not enjoy this so much but the rest of my family did. The Baklava was a bigger serving than I am used to it was like it was a pizza slice. At first I thought I wouldn't like it because it has a strong zesty taste but surprisingly the nutty pistachio and sweetness if the filling slowly neutralizes the zest and with the slowly melting flaky pastry tells your mouth you are ready for the next bite.... (Much to the chagrin of my diabetes). This is the BEST baklava I have tasted. Bill reached about php 870 per pax. But we still had 1 meal takeout leftover. So around 700 per pax. Super worth it for the quality and experience!!! Open air dining with enclosed dining as well. Great view and selfies, lively Persian house music and great food. The perfect dining experience. And no we didn't eat for free. This is not a sponsored review.

I really like this place—it feels authentic and I highly recommend it! The view is great, and the vibe is totally different from most restaurants in Baguio. The food was excellent with very generous servings. We tried the Mini Family Plate, which was labeled good for 2–3 persons, but it could actually feed five! The portion sizes are much bigger than what you’d usually find in Filipino cuisine. We also had the Appetizer Sampler and were surprised at how generous it was—we even had to order extra pita bread just to finish everything. Their baklava really stood out. I’ve tried baklava in Turkey and other Arab countries, but this one was way better! Service was also top-notch. The staff are well-trained, and you can tell the foreign owner is hands-on—he’s usually around, making sure everything runs smoothly. Overall, great food, authentic feel, quality service, and a refreshing change of atmosphere in Baguio. We will definitely be coming back!
